If you would like to know the worst experience of my life, you have come to the right place. If you want my story, here it is. I’m only 14. I’m only in the 8th grade. My middle school is a subscriber of an educational website that produces short videos. Some of you might be aware of BrainPOP. It’s been around every since I was in elementary school. It stars a boy named Tim, and a robot named Moby. At the beginning of each episode, Tim gets a letter from a random source asking a question to do with school. I always knew there was something odd about the ending of each episode. Usually, something tragic happened to one character, such as a tree falling on Tim. The tragic event always happened to Tim, which was very odd. Anyway, I always heard people talk about some sort of “lost episode” of BrainPOP. I never thought about it until last weekend. I had nothing to do but surf the internet, so I decided to look up “lost episode of BrainPOP”. After a bit of researching, I came to a blank website with a link to a video called “Moby’s Slaughter”. I clicked on the link. It brought me to a BrainPOP video. Everything looked normal. The videos icon had a picture of Moby. Some elements of the website were missing, such as the quiz. All I could do was click on Moby’s hand to start the video. As the movie started, Tim was in a bathroom washing his hands. He looked worried. He picked up a note and read, “Don’t turn back. From Moby”. The camera angle switched to Tim’s rear. A dark figure was coming towards Tim, but Tim didn’t notice. The figure was Moby, but not the Moby I know. This one had bright, red, flashing eyes, a rusted body, and was holding a gun. The screen went dark for a few minutes. Then I heard a noise that will stay in my head forever. A pop. When the screen came back on, all that was left on the screen was a picture. A picture of a human brain cut up into pieces. I threw up at this point. Then three words filled the screen. “DON’T TRUST MOBY”. The website then gave me a “404 Error” screen, so I went back to the website with the link. The link was broken, and I never saw the video again. Nobody believes me when I tell this story. I can’t remember all the details, because I only saw it once. Just remember this, and whatever you do, DON’T TRUST MOBY.

  1. I have seen those brain pop videos and i don’t know what you are talking about when you say something tragic happened to Tim. And why would the creators of that educational show for kids make an episode like that and if you really did see that video then it is probably just some sort of stupid messed up gag video.

    • That’s the thing about “lost episode” pastas. They don’t even come up with a reason as to why they would make such episodes.

  4. Oh BrainPOP! I remember those! At first I had no clue what it was, so I looked it up and I remembered what it was.

Now, you obviously have never actually used BrainPOP as nothing “tragic” happens to Tim at the end of the episodes. And why do bad events occurring only to one character seem odd? Think of Kenny from South Park. In practically every episode, he is basically the only one who dies. Do we find it odd? No. It’s comical. So the whole “oh no, something tragic happened to Tim” isn’t odd. Then of course there is the existence of the Lost Episode. Lost episodes usually do not make sense, especially if you have no explanation for it. At least in Squidward’s Suicide, the author had a partial explanation for the “lost episode” and it made sense, which is why the pasta is so successful. This one, not so much. Then of course there was the chopped up brain thing. Maybe it’s just me being a medical student and actually having to dissect all sorts of organs such as brains and everything, but it’s not all that creepy. If anything, they could have done a whole segment on the different parts of the brain…That would make for an interesting Halloween episode. But that’s not the point. A chopped up brain isn’t really creepy.

Overall, it doesn’t really impress me. Well written, but the nature of this pasta isn’t suited for the main site. I give it a D.
