- I didn’t do it….I wouldn’t. It was him…..
It was another boring day, alarm went off, time to get to work. I hopped in the shower and got cleaned up for work. For some reason I had this uneasy feeling. Something was wrong. I got my jeans on, shirt, shoes and went into the kitchen to make breakfast. Eggs, bacon, biscuits, done. Abby, my wife walked into the kitchen, I gave her a goodmorning kiss and I made her a plate. I then figured out I shouldn’t make eggs. So I grabbed my keys and headed to the office. It was Monday so I knew I would have to do overtime. 6:00 to 10:300, whoopdy doo. After a long day of work and talking to people I can’t understand I headed home. About a mile from the office my car broke down. I tried to call the tow truck place but of course, it was closed. I called Abby, no answer, tried again, nothing. So I decided to just walk home. I knew a shortcut to the house because my parents used to live in my neighborhood when I was kid. So I went to Pier Woods, the shortcut. I started walking, still trying to call Abby, still nothing. I put it out of my mind, thinking she was asleep. As I was walking, I felt uneasy, like something was watching me. But every time I looked, no one was there. I was getting paranoid so I started jogging. I started hearing slow, but heavy breathing behind me. Now terrified, I ran to my house. When I got home, Abby was sleeping, but I needed to tell her about what happened. She said it was probably some kids messing around. I told her that’s probably what happened, but I didn’t mean it. I couldn’t sleep for hours. I finally fell asleep and it wasn’t for long. I was woke up by a terrifying nightmare. I was in the woods and I turned around. And there was a person, not even a person. A faceless figure. The thing had 8 arms, he had no eyes but I could see its stare, no mouth but I could hear him breathing, then it all went black. That’s when I woke up, out of breath sweating, I checked the clock, 7:00. I was paranoid now, knowing that thing is after me. I threw on my hoodie and some jeans, I was going into the woods. Abby was still sleeping, so I barely opened the door, and started into the woods. It was early, the birds were singing, and I could see the sun rising. Shooting bright rays threw the trees. But then the birds stopped singing, and the sun went dim. I heard the crunching of leaves. And something dashed in front of me, I nearly fell down, but then I noticed it was a squirrel. I was getting too paranoid, so I decided to go home. I turned around to get home, and there it was. In the dream it was faded. But now I see it. Tall slender body, 8 arms, no face. For a moment it just stood there. And then it made a noise, like a dark, mean, laugh. And then it was gone, just like that. I ran back home, bursting threw the door, screaming for Abby. But she wasn’t there. I checked the bedroom, the kitchen, outside. Then I went into the bathroom. And I stood there, looking at the mirror. On the mirror was written in blood, “Follow the trees”. I was terrified, and then I knew that thing had Abby. I ran out the door running into the woods, panting and shouting “Abby”. I fell down from exhaust. Then the woods got dark, the birds stopped singing, and the sun stopped shining. I looked up, and there it was. The thing. This time, I could feel its stare. And in one of its arms, there was Abby, dead. blood everywhere. I could feel my stomach churning from the sight. The thing reached for me, and everything went white. I woke up in a bed. It was a dream, but then I looked around. And it wasn’t my bed, no Abby. Just brick walls. Then I knew what happened. I was in jail, for the murder of Abby.
