For those pastas that are smelling less than fresh…

Pokemon: Nightmare

One day i went to the Game Over store in San Antonio to buy an old school game until suddenly I found a Pokemon Red cartridge with a label saying, “Pokemon Red”. I didn’t think that there was anything wrong with it so, i bought it for $5.00. I did notice that the employee looked at me a bit funny and said, “Are you sure you want that game?”. I said yes and was heading on my way back home, I popped in the cartridge in my GameBoy Advance SP and I found nothing wrong with the game, only to have found that the game has already started under the name, “RED”. I was curious so, I started the game and progressed on where it had left off in Viridian City. I played the game for days and had got all 8 badges so, I was heading to the Elite Four. My Pokemon team was just like Red’s team on Gold, Silver, and Crystal version, Pikachu, all 3 Kanto starters, a Snorlax, and Lapras. I was making my way up in the Elite Four and after I defeated Lance, I was to move up to my last opponent, my rival, Blue. I went up and defeated him but, things started to get strange from there. There was no scene where professor Oak came in to take me to the Hall of Fame instead, it was Blue saying, “You beat me! I can’t believe it!”. ” This may be the end of the Elite Four but there is still one more challenger you have to face.” I thought to myself, ” What!? But that’s impossible!”. My rival, Blue, said that I would find him in Lavender Town inside Pokemon Tower which did surprise me because I had gene there before and saw nothing about another trainer. The credits ended and I was taken back to the title screen where I went to the main menu and continued my file, starting in front of the Pokemon League. I was going to make my way to Lavender Town from there to face this trainer my rival mentioned. When I got there, everything seemed normal except for the music. I noticed the music was becoming disoriented and slowly going into a deeper pitch, even when I entered Pokemon Tower. I was climbing my way up and saw a channeler on the last staircase, I talked to the person and he said, ” If you go to face him, you’ve sealed you fate.” I went up to the top floor and at the end of hall was a door that I had never seen when I was going to get the Poke flute. I went inside and seen a person standing with gravestones around him. As I talked to the person he said, ” Ah, so you’ve beaten the Elite Four, I must warn you that these gravestones mark all of my victims and YOU SHALL BE MY NEXT!” A battle started and it said, ” Nightmare wants to battle” and this person didn’t look like a person at all. He looked like a demonic monster who had only one Pokemon, Spirit, a ghost with a sad face and was kind of faded. I had also noticed that instead of my Pokemon being level 70 and up they were all down to level 1. I tried as hard as I could to defeat the pokemon but it was no use, all it kept doing was, suffocate. I soon had no Pokemon left and my trainer appeared and so did Nightmare. ” Your journey ends here, along with your life.” says Nightmare. I had only 2 options, fight and run. I selected run but it said, ” You can’t run from you fate!” so, i selected fight. Nightmare used Soul Devour and all I saw was the title screen. I went to the main menu and selected continue, and all I saw was a black screen with a gravestone in the middle of the screen while the tune from the Poke-flute played. A text soon appeared saying, ” Here lies Pokemon trainer….RED…”.

  2. Once again, I am going to say this: any haunted game pasta that does not have real-world consequences for the player is not scary. The same goes for haunted episodes.

  5. Dear Author,
I had really liked your story. It was very creative , but you need to make it longer so readers like me can be captured into that beautiful moment when the reader becomes so immersed in the story that it seems almost real. The story is also missing that real life element that scares the person into reality. On a much lighter note, I thought it was wonderful! :)
    Sincerely,
    Smart Owl Girl
