The Comma

So I love Indie games because of there peacefulness and fun but I never thought i would come across something like this. So I was about 9 o’ clock at night my parents were upstairs making brownies. I decided I would play some Minecraft. So I started my client and i noticed that the Update Info wouldn’t load. Strange but I ignored it. I pressed login and when Minecraft started it played music. It doesn’t normally play music unless you play for a while. But it wasn’t that calming music you usually hear, it was Mellohi playing BACKWARDS! I was at 30% creeped out at this point. I noticed that “Play Multiplayer” was gone and the only buttons were Singleplayer and Options. I hit Singleplayer and i had my worlds. “Jump On It” for my Buildings and “Leap on It” for my survival. But there was a new world called “,” I loaded it up being fearless. And I was in a snow biome on top of a tree. I had the nausea potion effect for 6:66 minutes and seconds. Mellohi still played backwards. I heard screams and creepy laughter all around. Scared stiff I clicked Save and Quit but a textbox appeared that said “Why Would You Want to Leave?” Then the game crashed. I had never been more scared in my life at the moment seeing that Indies are mostly calming and fun games. Then as I force quit i still had the screams stuck in my head over and over. Then my computer kept making a dung noise over and over. I shut it down quickly. I had never new i would come across such and experience like people say they have. Well I dont think I will be sleeping tonight but best wishes to you.

“Indies are mostly calming and fun games”? Calming? Have you ever heard of Indie horror games? I suppose you meant casual or sandbox games? Anyway, not scary or even remotely creepy. The narrator is frightened extremely easily, despite claiming to be “fearless”. And what’s so scary about a world named “,”? MineCraft can’t be made scary in any way, guys. There’s no use in trying. (No, Herobrine isn’t scary, either.)

Is ‘parents were upstairs making brownies’ a euphemism? Also, this is crap.

    • Cariaian

I thought the same thing lol

“Ever since then I was left with a crippling fear of commas which is why I made sure not to put a single comma in this entire — OH GOD I ACCIDENTALLY LEFT ONE IN WHAT HAVE I DONE im sorry im sorry im sorry”

    ” 6:66 minutes”

Minutes only have 60 seconds… how the hell do you not know that? A fucking five year old knows that.

    “dung noise”

how scary. the sound of someone taking a dump.

BACKWARDS! I was at 30% creeped out at this point

Songs played backwards are rarely scary…

Also, I really wish I had a creeped out meter like this guy. That would be legit.

So from what I’ve gathered using data from other posters is the following:

I love Indie games because they’re peaceful (apart from the scary ones, I probably mean sandbox games) and fun but I never thought I would come across something like this.

It was about 9pm, my parents were upstairs making sweet love. I decided I would play some Minecraft.

I started my client and I noticed that the update info wouldn’t load. This was a bit strange but I ignored it. I pressed the login button, when Minecraft started it played music. It doesn’t normally play music unless you play for a while. But it wasn’t calming music like you’d normally hear, it was Mellohi playing backwards! I checked my creepometer it was at 30% creeped out at this point.

I noticed that the play multiplayer option appeared to be missing and the only options were single player and game options. I clicked on single player, this displayed the various worlds. Jump On It for my Buildings and Leap on It for my survival. But there was a new world called “comma” I loaded it up despite my creepometer showing that I was 30% creeped out. When the game loaded I was in a snow biome on top of a tree. I had the nausea potion effect for 7.06 minutes. Mellohi was still playing backwards. I heard screams and creepy laughter all around. I was scared stiff (80% on the creepometer) I clicked Save and Quit but a textbox appeared that said “Why would you want to leave?” Then the game crashed. I have never been more scared in my life (100% on the creepometer) at that moment. I’m not used to adult games, I normally play calm games. I force quit the game, I still had the screams stuck in my head over and over. Then my computer kept pooing constantly. I shut it down quickly. I never thought that I would come across an experience that has been shared by so many other Minecraft fans. It really disappointed me because I thought the game was of a good quality, glitches shouldn’t happen. When I finally got the screams out of my head and cleaned up the horrifying poo, I thought I’d share this with all of you. There aren’t enough warnings out there. Minecraft is dangerous.

I’m going to interrupt my parents in a minute, I can’t sleep in my own bed tonight.

Indie games are calming? Reminder that indie horror games exist and I’m not sure if OFF really counts as indie but it’s so unsettling my best friend refuses to play it.

    • Alfred Frederick Dinglebottom

That’s because your best friend is a sissy.

      What’s OFF?

      Only Fictitious Friend?

      • The Operator

OFF is an indie rpg game made by this french guy called Mortis Ghost. It’s pretty cool, has a few creepy moments, and a great story (though the gameplay isn’t very good).

I’m the admin of the OFF Wiki, actually. Which is why I know these things.

          Thanks for info.

I’m not sure of everyone’s ages on here but I often feel as though I’m out of touch with some of your likes, dislikes and phrases.

“But it wasn’t that calming music you usually hear, it was Mellohi playing BACKWARDS! I was at 30% creeped out at this point.”

Do I even need to read further?

  • Pax

No. Please, just… no. No. This is the kind of story that makes you go from laughing drunk to “sobbing quietly in your lap” drunk.

I’M SO SORRY EVERYONE I JUST WANTED TO BE GOOD im never good enough for dad im sorry so sarry

‘I had never been more scared in my life at the moment seeing that Indies are mostly calming and fun games’ – Ao Oni, Outlast, Slender, OFF, Yume Nikki, Ib, Vapour, and so on. All incredibly creepy. So yeah, you’ve got that wrong.

Also, you stole my creep-o-meter, author. Shame on you.

  • craphunter1018

That’s ironic. It’s called ‘The Comma’ when he uses way less then he should.

  • Dive middle

Ao Oni is definitely not scary.
